Funeral service for George R. Sullivan 75 of Norfolk November 30 at Trinity Episcopal Church.  Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, Military Rites by the American Legion Post 16, VFW Winter/Munson Post 1644 and the Nebraska National Guard Honor Team. He died November 27 at Faith Regional Health Services. Known as "Sully" to friends, he often visited the Ainsworth area and was a long time property owner near Ainsworth.

Funeral service for Dora Sidak age 87 of Emmet November 28 at First Christian Church in O'Neill with burial at Bassett Memorial Park Cemetery.  She passed away November 24 at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk. Memorials may be made to the Golden Age Center. Survivors include her husband Louis of Emmet. PFC Christopher Franklin Pfeifer age 21 of Spalding died Sept. 25, at Brook Army Medical Center, Ft. Sam Houston, San Antonio, from wounds received in combat on Aug. 17 during Operation Enduring Freedom. Services held Oct. 10 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Spalding. Military burial in St. Michael's Cemetery in Spalding.

Memorial service for Sgt. Jacob Schmuecker age 27 of Norfolk July 31 at the Atkinson Community Center. He was killed July 21 in Balad, Iraq when his humvee was hit by a roadside bomb. He is the son of Rod and Patty Schmuecker. West Holt High School Class of 1999 has created a memorial scholarship fund in his name.
